This a quick and simple test which could detect early cancer of the cervix. The earlier a change is found the easier it is to treat successfully. Cervical smears are free to those aged between 25 and 60. Before it can be done, however, you will need to register at Cervical check or by phoning cervicalcheck on 1850 45 45 55. Then make an appointment with our practice nurse (see section on Appointments on how to arrange this). You will need to bring your PPSN and cervical screening programme ID number with you.
