Opening Hours: Mon - Fri 9-12 & 2:30-5

Appointments

Waiting RoomCladdagh Surgery is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. & from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. (but is closed on Bank Holidays). In case of an urgent medical problem outside normal surgery hours please call DubDoc on 01 4545 607 (see below) or Doctor on Duty (see below).

You can request an appointment by:

TELEPHONE: You can phone the practice on 01 795 6012 or 01 795 6010;

ONLINE: Please note that this is a request only, and that appointments must be confirmed first when requested online – we will email, ‘phone, or text you to confirm the time of your appointment. Please click here to proceed with online appointment form.

IN PERSON: at the reception.

For routine appointments, including repeat prescriptions, or management of on-going medical issues, we advise that you book some days in advance to ensure the date and time you want, with your own doctor.

There is no ability to see walk-ins, however, each doctor keeps a number of appointments free each day to be given to those who need to be seen that same day. Please note that these are for urgent problems only, such as people who are in pain, or who have developed an infection. Please bear in mind that for patients attending as an emergency, only the urgent issue can be addressed, so as to be fair to other patients. Also, attending without an appointment for a routine matter causes delays to other patients.

Alternatively, you can phone the surgery (do not email for an urgent appointment) if you need to be seen urgently, and let the receptionist know that it is urgent. Your doctor will speak to you and either arrange to see you at some stage that day or give appropriate advice over the phone. Please note, that outside of requests for urgent care, we try to limit telephone calls being put through to us while consulting, in an effort to minimise interruption to the patient being seen at that time.

House Calls

Because of the better facilities, and available equipment & treatments, it is usually preferable to attend the surgery. If you think that a house call is needed, you should ring the surgery as early as you can in the morning. You will be put through to your doctor, who will encourage you to attend the surgery if it appears safe for you to attend; your doctor will then try to see you as soon as possible on arrival. Otherwise, house calls are done at lunchtime. Occasionally, your own doctor may not be able to visit you; one of the other doctors from the practice will visit you in that case.

Outside normal surgery hours, DubDoc and Doctor on Duty provide emergency cover – if your problem is not urgent, it may be better to wait to be seen by your own doctor the next day.
